Summer Solstice Intern May – July 2026

Posted March 3, 2026

Hopewell is looking for a well-qualified intern to take an active role in planning and implementing our annual “Summer Solstice” benefit.  The event is on Friday, June 26, 2026 at the Chagrin Valley Hunt Club in Gates Mills. Hopewell’s Summer Solstice has become a Cleveland tradition and is well-attended by Northeast Ohio’s community leaders.

This internship is a paid position ($15/hour) and requires about 25 hours (flexible) per week.  A few weeks prior to the June 26 event, this position may require 40 hours/week.  While there is some local travel, most days are spent in our Chagrin Falls Development Office.  This is a great way for anyone (over 21) to develop new, professional contacts while being part of a highly recognized Cleveland event.  The intern must be available from early to mid-May until early July, including the full week of June 22.

This position requires a high sense of professionalism, organization, time management and computer literacy.  If you are an energetic, customer-service oriented person with good oral and written communication skills and a proactive approach to work, this is the internship for you.

Internship responsibilities include:

  • Manage the collection, organization and distribution of live and silent auction items.  This entails accurate data entry, creative writing, project management skills, and photographing items.
  • Active participation with the benefit committee in all planning meetings and execution of the event.
  • Assist with set-up and close-out of the auction as well as monitoring benefit activity.
  • Active participation the evening of the event.
  • Assist with creating and mailing acknowledgements to auction donors, corporate sponsors and benefit attendees.
  • Assist with filing.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Development Staff.
  • Must have use of a car.
  • Preferred: Experience in photography, desk-top graphic design and/or event planning.

This internship will not interact with Hopewell residents and does not require a psychological background.

Please contact Hopewell’s Director of Communications, Ann Thompson by March 20, 2026 or fill out the form below.

No phone calls please.
