Campus Residences

Residents on our campus enjoy a comfortable, home-like environment in the Main House, Hand House or two Cottages. Here they relax, read, socialize and rest.

The Main House

Many of Hopewell's activities take place in the Main House, formerly called "The Inn." As well as resident housing, the Main House includes the dining room, administrative and nursing offices and the education center.

The Farm

Key to recovery at Hopewell is the work on the farm. From animal care to gardening, residents are involved in all aspects of farm life. This meaningful work builds confidence and connects people to each other and to the earth.

Sugar House

Each spring, residents and staff tap more than 750 maple trees. They use old-fashioned methods to boil 17,000 gallons of sap to produce 200 gallons of award-winning maple syrup. Thanks to generous donors, a Sugar House was constructed in 2016.

The David Cutler Conservatory

The Conservatory provides a state-of-the-art greenhouse for Hopewell’s nature studies program, a year-round meditative garden and a conference center.

Hoop House

A place for Hopewell residents to nurture seedlings for the gardens, connect with nature, gain confidence and build vocational skills.

The Gardens

Residents build self-esteem while working together to help grow fresh vegetables. The vegetables are served as part of nutritious meals on the farm.

The Campus

Using the power of nature, meaningful work, therapeutic community and a highly-skilled, caring staff, Hopewell’s program treats the whole person: mind, body and spirit.

Mesopotamia Township

Hopewell is located on 325 acres in rural Mesopotamia (approximately 60 miles southeast of Cleveland) -- the heart of Ohio's Amish country.
